PowerSchool Data Breach

Dear Families,

We want to inform you about a cyber incident affecting the PowerSchool application, which is used by the Superior-Greenstone District School Board, along with many other school boards in North America. 

PowerSchool is a Student Information System (SIS) that manages student data such as enrollment, grades, attendance, and schedules.  It provides tools for teachers, administrators, and families, including parent and student portals for tracking academic progress and attendance. 

On Wednesday, January 8, 2025, PowerSchool notified school boards, including 91直播, that a data breach occurred within their system. 

PowerSchool, along with the affected school boards, is actively investigating the breach.  Our cybersecurity team immediately activated response plans to ensure the continued security and functionality of critical systems. 

At this time, based on information provided by PowerSchool, we have determined that our school board has not been impacted by the cyber incident.  However, we will continue to work closely with PowerSchool and monitor the situation. 

PowerSchool has confirmed that the application is secure, and its functionality remains unchanged.
